≚ EXP — a pun on "experience point" and "exposure" — is our new feature series dedicated to sharing the stories behind some of the world's most iconic and interesting video game soundtracks, and introducing the composers who created them.

EXP001 — An interview with Barry Leitch, creator of the music for Top Gear (SNES; 1992).

☙ The following are mixes that have been created for yes/no by various artists. Not only is this a good way to showcase an artist's taste in music, and to show off their talents at seamlessly slotting in tracks for a 30-plus-minute cohesive flow of sound, but a guest mix also begins the sequential branching of music discovery. Listen to a guest mix created by an artist you like, and you'll find more music-makers in there. It's an entertaining and additional experience.

Our aptly named lazy interview series consists of the same 11 questions sent to each participating artist via email. Lazy in name, and in nature, this deceptively simple Q&A allows artists to respond without any pressure on seemingly straightforward questions, and often yields interesting answers.
